Pinning Down the Vibe

Stripping panels is hands work. This is the other track, the one that runs in my head: what should it feel like inside?

The van is still bare metal and rivet holes. But my phone is already full of finished interiors.

While I work on the structural parts, I’m collecting ideas for the inside on a Pinterest board. Every van build I save gets compared to the same feeling: a bright, open space where you want to hang out, not just sleep. The best word I have for it is Ibiza. White surfaces, light wood, soft cushions, sun coming in from everywhere.

Scrolling through the board, the same things keep coming back. White walls and ceilings. Pale wood for the furniture, sometimes with slatted details. Off-white and linen textiles. A real lounge corner instead of just a bench at a table. Skylights and warm, hidden lighting for the evenings. None of it screams for attention. It all just looks calm.

Nothing is decided yet, and that’s fine. This is not a shopping list, it’s a direction. But having a direction matters more than it seems. The tape lines on the floor from the layout session already ask questions like: is this a kitchen you cook in, or a lounge you live in? The board helps me answer those questions before I cut a single sheet of plywood.
